The Full Figured Industry — a model brand that emphasizes plus-sized women — held its fourth annual award show on November 4th at the Jamaica Center of Performing Arts center. The event was free with reservation and open to all ages.
Attendees came dressed to impress, as lavish dresses and luxury suits filled the entire auditorium as they prepared to give fifteen awards to the dedicated models. Guests were greeted with delicious food at the door from a top gourmet chef.
Executive producer of the Full Figured Industry Awards, Tawana Blassingame, expressed what she loves most about the company she works for. “Well, we specialize in the plus-sized industry which is different from the straight-sized industry, Blassingame stated. “So we created this platform to be able to encourage and support each other. It’s about honoring the pioneers in our industry and celebrating the up-and-coming.”
