New York City District 27 Council Member Nantasha Williams and New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams hosted their Winter Holiday Fest Toy Giveaway on December 16th at the New Jerusalem Worship Center. The event was free to the public with an RSVP and was appropriate for all ages.
Attendees were greeted with exciting games and fun music. Outside, people signed up and prepared to walk inside, where children could take photos with Santa Claus, watch a Christmas movie, and eat.
The families had a variety of toys to choose from, from Barbie Dolls to basketballs and footballs. Food was offered to families in need to make their holidays memorable.
Minister Thomas from the New Jerusalem Worship Center explained the importance of events like this. “We want to have events like this because it brings our families and communities together,” Thomas stated. “Because it’s one heart, one mind, one spirit. So that’s what we are showing the local people today.”
