Being Egypt Caring Inc. hosted its second annual Kindness Carnival Uniting Against Bullying and Violence at Cambria Playground on October 5th. The event was free and open to the public and was presented in collaboration with New York City Council Member Nantasha Williams and New York Council Speaker Adrienne E. Adams.
The carnival included fun games and activities for children, including a bouncy castle, face painting, and hockey games. The goal of the event was to spread awareness about bullying.
Shaleem Bush, shared her insights about the event. “We are trying to bring the community together with this,” Bush stated. “The event is free and we have everything here. We have carnival games, face painting, free popcorn and snacks.”
Bush continued to talk about the effect her daughter has had since becoming an author. “The organization is named after my daughter Egypt who at the age of five became an author and wrote three books. She was being bullied in school, so she used her experience to help others.”
