The Rosedale Jets held their annual homecoming event on Saturday October 8th and Sunday October 9th at Brookville Park. The first set of games was held on Saturday and the second set of games was held on Sunday. The individuals that participated ranged in age from seven to thirteen.
The event was vibrant and filled with black and gold as parents and fans came to cheer for their local youth football team. Delicious food – from fried fish to oxtails – was served for the players and attendees.
In the first game, the seven-year-old and under Rosedale Jet team shutout the Elmont Cardinals by a score of 18-0. Next, the nine-year-old and under Rosedale Jets team was defeated in a blowout by the Jamaica Bulldogs 24-6. In the final game for the first set of matches, the ten-year-old and under team fought a hard battle to defeat the Long Island Renegades 26-13.
Sunday witnessed the beginning of the older clubs. The eleven and under Rosedale Jets team defeated the Jamaica Bulldogs 27-12. The twelve and under Rosedale Jets team also defeated and blew out the Jamaica Bulldogs 18-0. For the final game, the thirteen and under Rosedale Jets team faced the Jamaica Bulldogs and were shutout 18-0.
Exhilarating music – remixed to cheer on the franchise’s teams – and fantastic football contributed to an event that will go down in Rosedale Jets history!
