The Brooks Senior Center hosted a Recycle Your E-Waste and Textile event on Saturday, July 26th. The event was sponsored by LES Ecology Center and was free and open to the public.
The event provided families with a proper way to dispose of their electronics and clothing. All manner of electronics, including batteries, were accepted. Batteries, in particular, need to be disposed of correctly. If not, they can harm and damage the environment.
Helpsy – a certified B Corp and Public Benefit Corporation with a mission of keeping clothing out of the trash and creating honorable work – was on site to accept used clothing that is no longer wanted. Discarded clothing is cleaned and given to those in need.
