The Queens Public Library’s Central Library hosted its Youth Symposium on June 12th. The event was free and open to the public.
The goal of this event was to support and inspire local teens through workshops and guest speakers who discussed college planning, job opportunities, and community involvement.
Students had the opportunity to meet professionals and acquire valuable skills for their future. The symposium provided young people with valuable tools to support their educational and career goals.
Dominique McNally, from the Queens Community Justice Center, provided some insight into why their organization made an appearance during this event. “We want to offer the programs and opportunities that we can to the community,” McNally stated. “We have programs that range from therapy for families dealing with probation, group therapy, mentorships, and workforce development.”
