Comrie, Williams, and Hyndman Host Back-to-School Celebration

New York State Senator Leroy Comrie, New York City Council Member Nantasha Williams, and New York State Assembly Member Alicia Hyndman hosted their annual Back to School Block Party on August 23rd in front of Nantasha Williams’ office. The event was free and open to the public.

Many appeared at this event to receive free school supplies and enjoy the festivities. There was free food, activities such as a bouncy house, and music brought by DJ Nett and her students from her DJing company.

Joanne Madhère, the Director of Communications and Events for Council Member Williams, explained the importance of the event. “This is an annual event that we like to have,” Madhère stated. “It is something we want to do ahead of the Back to School time just to ensure the community knows we are there for them. We want to make sure the kids are comfortable when they go back, so we want to have them play some games and enjoy themselves.”
