Council Member Nantasha Williams hosted her second annual Turkey Giveaway at Mount Olivet Baptist Church on November 18th.
Attendees lined up as the staff prepared to give away turkeys to the community and ensure a happy holiday. Over 300 turkeys were given away between 3 pm and 5 pm. Not only did they have the option for turkeys, but attendees were offered canned goods as well.
Nantasha Williams’ Public Affairs Specialist, Ayanna Camara, explained why Williams continues to help the Southeast Queens Community with events like this. “It’s important to give back to your local community,” Camara stated. “Nantasha being part of this district, it is huge to her to help us out because she is from the same area. So why not give back to where you came from?”
