Council Member Williams Hosts Jamaica Neighborhood Plan Information Session

New York City Council Member Nantasha Williams and The Jamaica Neighborhood Plan hosted an informational event on October 5th at the First Baptist Church. The event was free and open to the public.

The event’s purpose was to give community members the opportunity to provide feedback on their experiences in Jamaica Queens. Along with the surveys, the organization handed out information on new plans to re-zone and change the area.

Monica L. Pringle, told us why this event is important to her. “The community really needs to know what’s going on,” Pringle stated. “We know what we’re looking for and we know what we want. And we know when our parents moved here, they came with the mindset that they wanted certain things. They wanted their own space and their own homes. So we are working to bring us back into the community.”
