The Queens Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. hosted Turning Pain Into Purpose: A Community Conversation on Ending Gun Violence on June 5th. The event was free and open to the public via Zoom.
Panelists – including Angel Cruz and Pierre Loiseau – took time to explain how gun violence has affected their lives and communities. They shared ways people can help prevent the next act of gun-related violence.
Angel Cruz shared hopeful words about facing the troubles of gun violence. “I want to say thank you to everyone for being here today,” Cruz stated. “Our presence here is a powerful reminder that hope is alive, and together we can make a difference.”
