The Greater Allen Cathedral recently hosted a 5K Run in Roy Wilkins Park. The event cost $35 to participate and was open to the public.
Attendees gathered and, after receiving a shirt with their number on it, said a prayer before beginning the run.
Throughout the run, there were water stations, first aid stations, and a van that drove alongside them with water and a nurse.
Stacy Fox-Coleman, one of the curators of the event, shared why she is excited to host the event. “We want to involve everyone in the community,” Fox-Coleman stated. “And this is just a way to get the church’s name out there for people to hear and then join us. We also want to just give people something to feel included. So that’s the purpose of everything today.”
