Hillcrest High School Senior Theatre Presents: Alice in Wonderland

The senior-year theater students of Hillcrest High School finished their five-show run of Alice in Wonderland by Jason Pizzarello on February 13.

The production, managed entirely by the 14-person senior theater team – composed entirely of Hillcrest High School students and directed by theater teacher Brian Blader – ran for five shows from February 11 to February 13. The shows were free and hosted in Hillcrest High School’s own Black Box Theater.

Despite difficulties with flu season and a lack of manpower, the senior theater troupe pulled through to stage and perform Jason Pizarrello’s one-act adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s popular story.

“It wasn’t easy,” said Brian Blader, “but I’m proud of how it turned out.”

Teachers, parents, and students showed up to show their support, as well as students from the local elementary school P.S.Q086.

Next, Hillcrest High School’s senior theater is planning to produce some student-written plays for its senior showcase in May.
