The King Manor Museum hosted a free screening of Narratives of The Enslaved & The Free on October 16th from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. About 25 adults were in attendance.
Novelist, painter, and puppeteer George Hagen hosted the event and used shadow puppetry to tell the fictional story of an enslaved man on the Washington family plantation in Virginia in the 1730s. The film was at least 30 minutes long.
After the film concluded, Hagen discussed a few details with the audience about the real enslaved person Sam Anderson.
