The Morningstar Baptist Church, in conjunction with National Grid, hosted a Community Carnival on August 23rd. The event was free and open to the public.
Children and adults lined up across the street from the Morningstar Baptist Church to attend a day filled with fun carnival games, food, and free school supplies. The aim was to deliver 500 book bags and supplies to students in need.
Chantel Smith, a Morningstar representative, explained why the event was so important. “We have this every year,” Smith stated. “And our mission is to connect, grow, and serve. We are a missionary Baptist church, so this is a way for us to give back to the community.”
