New York Road Runners (NYRR) hosted their Open Run in Baisley Pond Park on August 24th. The event was free and open to the public.
Attendees were given the opportunity to participate in a 5K run. Each participant was timed and given their results at the end of the race. NYRR hosts 5K races weekly in several different parks all over New York City.
Rudo Hinds, the Volunteer Run Captain for the event, shared why it’s important for us to run. “Well, it’s all about health”, Hinds stated. “And a lot of us are in the car and not getting the exercise or fresh air that we really need. So we just wanted to give that opportunity to everyone.”
