Public Health Solutions in Jamaica, Queens hosts a weekly Baby Cafe every Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The cafes, which are free and open to the public, don’t require a reservation. Walk-ins are welcome!
Among other things, new parents are given guidance on breastfeeding their children by a certified lactationist.

Amen Ayanru, the Program Manager at NYC Breastfeeding Warmline, shared insight on why these gatherings are so important for the community. “Not every mom has access to this type of help for free that needs it,” Ayanru stated. “And genuinely new mothers have difficulty with breastfeeding and proper care. So this is a way to make sure that everyone has access to it and…once again…for free!”
