Queens Library Hosts Censorship Show

The Queens Public Library hosted The Censorship Show with Tim Barnes and Some Comedic Friends on August 14th. The event was free, open to the public, and appropriate for all ages.

The comedy show’s central theme targeted the idea of censorship. With the current political climate, the curators felt it was necessary to address this topic with humor.

The show began with Cleveland, Ohio native Dave Hill, who brought out his guitar to sing songs about his childhood. The most interesting part was when he spoke about his first fight and how it affected him. He struggled to keep certain parts of the song age-appropriate for children; however, this added an extra laugh. He began by saying, “You know, I thought this (the fight) would have taken place when I was younger. However, if you didn’t have it in your teens or twenties, then by your forties, you probably won’t deal with it.”

Additional comedians included Tim Barnes, DeWitt Fleming Jr, Felipe Torres, Rose Kelso, and Mia Jackson.
