The Jamaica Center of Arts and Learning recently hosted its fifth Thursday Night Jazz Festival performance of the 2023-2024 season. Ravi Coltrane took the stage on the February 8th.
The Thursday Night Jazz Festival features free and open-to-the-public jazz performances every second Thursday of every month. Curator Rio Sakairi said, “JCAL is offering cutting-edge contemporary Jazz from October until May.”
Coltrane is a critically acclaimed Grammy-nominated saxophonist, bandleader, and composer. He has been in the music industry for over twenty years and has worked with many artists and record labels. He has become an independent force and has worked on many noteworthy projects with artists. With his expertise in the field, Coltrane started an independent record label named RKM.
