The Worship Christian Center hosted another of its food pantries on November 18th on Farmers Boulevard. The event occurs every Friday and Saturday from 11 am until everything is gone.
With Thanksgiving on the way, the Center ensured they had turkeys and other sides such as canned beans, rice, and vegetables. They also had bread available for people to take at will. The Thanksgiving specialized pantry has been running for nine straight years.
Bishop John Rivers from Worship Christian Center explained the importance of being able to give back to the community. “We want everyone to have a joyous holiday, even in hard times.” Rivers stated. “It’s turning church outside and learning about what’s in our community and who is in our community. People get a chance to talk to each other and interact with one another. So we are not just looking at it in terms of food, but an all-around experience.”
