The New York Bangladeshi Cricket League (NYCBL) of the USA hosted a T30 Match in Baisley Pond Park on August 24th. The event was free and open to the public.
The NYCBL is a nationally known cricket league that includes teams from all over the world competing against each other. Over 20 teams participated in last year’s tournament. This year, the main event in the tournament is the Rajshahi Troopers vs. Moulvibazar United.
Shah Ahmed, Chief Editor of Awaazbd.us, talked about the importance of these tournaments. “Well, cricket is a well-known national sport,” Ahmed stated. “With America being a melting pot of cultures, we know we can get all the cricket players out here to compete along with the people from other countries. All the teams take this league very seriously and want to win first to represent their countries.”
