Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church held a Community Family Day on Merrick Boulevard on September 7th. The event was free and open to the public.
The day included representatives from various organizations that provide services locally. The day also featured a bouncy house for children to play in, a free backpack giveaway, free thrift clothes, and a BBQ grill with delicious hot dogs and hamburgers.
Minister Steven W Scicere, the minister of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, explained why this event is important for his church. “We want to provide the needed information to the community,” Scicere stated. “We have people here from the police department to the fire department and health insurance. They are here to give out information. Then we also have activities for the kids and food for the family. So this is a must for us to put smiles on people’s faces.”
