The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home hosted its Peace Culture: Archie Spigner Park event on April 11th. The event was free for the public and open to all ages.
The festival, a unique blend of spoken word, dance, and music, celebrated unity and harmony. It also featured a peace run—an international torch relay run that symbolizes peace and equality—with participants from many nations running together. The event underscored the idea that peace and equality begin within ourselves and are strengthened when we unite.
Harita Davies, Co-Director of the American Peace Run, shared her perspective on the events. “We are sending a message that we can all do something that is peaceful,” Davies stated. “We like to remind people that you can make a difference. You see a lot of the things in the news and you feel really disheartened by what you see. It feels like there is nothing you can do. But we can!”
