The St. Albans Congressional Church hosted its monthly Jazz Vespers Communion Service on May 4th.
The May 4th Jazz Vespers featured Gerald M. Thomas – a bass player who, among other things, teaches at southeast Queens’ Keiko Studios. His sound is a rich mixture of jazz elements with trumpets and smooth R&B piano riffs.
The audience was greeted with communion envelopes and wine as everyone took their seats and prepared for the show.
Jazz Vespers at the St. Albans Congregational Church takes place at 5:00 pm on the first Saturday of each month. The service has a suggested donation of $20.
